We’re really looking forward to celebrating the first Christmas in our new home. Last Christmas the house was in such a state, as we had only just started our 6 months of renovating. It’ll be nice to slow down for a while before next years rush. I have a lot of travelling planned for the first two months of the years, so I definitely need to charge my batteries before that.
We’re ready to do as little as possible, watch a movie or two and enjoy some time together. We needed a new sofa, so we visited DFS a few weeks ago and fell for the Zinc Express sofa by French Connection. It was a family decision and we all tested it before committing. It’s comfortable and as it’s a 4-seater we can all snuggle up together. All we need now is some popcorn and some chocolate and we’re all set.
We chose the cream combination for the fabric (I think it looks beige) and dark wooden legs. There were 11 colours to choose from and 3 leg options. For us, it wasn’t a hard choice. I think the colour fits in perfectly with our 70s mustard yellow curtains and our ever growing collection of green plants. I counted 34 the other day!
We’re really happy with our comfy new sofa and are very pleased we got it in time for Christmas. A comfy sofa is the perfect excuse to stay in during the winter months, don’t you think? When I get home from work it’s already pitch dark, so I normally can’t face going back out again. Sitting on a comfy sofa watching something on Netflix is much more appealing. I think we need a larger rug though.. I would love a velvet rug with fringes. They’re so cool aren’t they? I think that would look really nice.

Another favourite of mine is the Cuddler Sofa in the same range. It looks so comfy and I love the shape. I’m not sure I would get up if I sat down in it though. Did you see the black leather option? Love it!
