In fact, I’m not just dreaming of a mature garden, I’m dreaming of a garden full stop! It would be fantastic to have some outside space in the summer. What I miss the most from our home in France is the garden. I love eating outside and we used to do that 3 times a day in France. That and go outside for a coffee break. I miss that! Then again, in Scotland we don’t have the same weather of course.
I was searching for garden ideas for a friend and came across this cute garden on homify the other day. I think this is a lovely solution for a small garden. The garden is nice and mature and I think the contemporary pergola in grey looks great. The view from the kitchen’s bi-folding doors makes the garden feel like it’s a part of the home. This would be my ideal way to live. To be able to open the doors and go out to the garden, even if it only is for a 10 minute break..
For a home with bi-folding doors it’s important that the garden looks nice all year round. It therefore makes a huge difference which plants you have in your garden. I’m a great believer in asking when I buy plants, as a gardener is normally very keen to suggest what’s best for you.
