How to Add Personal Style to Your Bathroom

5/01/2015

I was asked by Crosswater, one of the leading bathroom retailers, to style my bathroom with their bathroom accessories. I chose a collection called Central, as I felt it was quite flexible. The toothbrush holder looks just as good on our shelf as it does in it’s holder. There’s also a soap holder and a towel rail.

Like everything else in our home our bathroom changes all the time. I recently painted our bathroom white. It used to be magnolia. The white walls make the bathroom feel larger. I’ve stripped it back to the bear minimum in terms of accessories and I’m enjoying it a lot more.

I think a bathroom should feel inviting. For me bathroom decor should be simple. I prefer to add brown bottles and fun toothbrushes for a bit of colour. Not to forget a bit of green. I’ve always got either a green plant or some branches in a vase. Sometimes I have pictures on the wall. It could be a poster in a frame or a simple postcard. It’s all about making it personal and adding things you enjoy. At the moment our bathroom is all white as it’s just been painted, but I’m sure I’ll have a few things hung up very soon. I brought back some nice black and white postcards from Spain and think they would look nice here.

How to Add Personal Style to your Bathroom

How to Add Personal Style to your BathroomWhen it comes to towels a little trend tip is towels with a fringe trim. We’ll see a lot more of them this year. That and wooden brushes.

I bought the vintage bench at a bric-a-brac in France years ago. It has since been moved around to different rooms, but it’s now in our bathroom.  It’s always nice to add industrial and rough furniture to an otherwise clean room. It makes the space feel more personal and a bit different.

I think white works really well in a bathroom. Thanks a lot! I’ve kept it really simple, but I’m enjoying it a lot more now without the magnolia.
