I’m a huge fan of Ikea’s site Livet Hemma (which by the way means life at home, if you were wondering). This leather shelf DIY caught my eye. The photos have been beautifully styled by Pella Hedeby. This is definitely a DIY that I would like to try. Light wood is bang on trend. I really like the contrast of the grey concrete with the black and white, light wood and leather. The photos are striking.
To create a shelf like this you need leather, a piece of wood (in this diy they used the shelf EKBY), a leather hole punch and some screws. You can use old leather belts that you can pick up in charity shops or buy new strips of leather. Make sure you’re shelf is securely fastened to the wall.

Not only do I want to try this leather DIY, I also desperately want a concrete wall or a concrete floor.. One day!
I’m with you with the concrete wall – and those shelfs would be perfect!
