Now, I’m not sure about you, but when I think about watercolour art, I normally think of lots of colours. I love Mellissa Slemin’s take on watercolour and the fact that she’s using black ink. Her work is clean, minimal and done to perfection.
I seem to discover most new talents on Instagram these days as opposed to on Pinterest. A few months ago, I spotted this truly beautiful watercolour painting on Melissa’s account @melissaselmin. The painting is called Overcast and is a part of the Serenity collection. I also found another painting that I liked and it’s called Submerged. You can see them both below.
With a background in fashion retail, Melissa has worked in the US, India and the UK as a commercial artist and designer. She enjoys exploring a range of styles and techniques and draws inspiration from her Chinese-Italian dual heritage. You can see all of Melissa’s work here. I’m sure you’ll find something you like from her large collection of stunning prints. I follow Melissa on Pinterest too and her account is full of minimal inspiration. Check it our here.
