I grew up 20 minutes from the Jotun paint factory in Sandefjord, Norway. Here in the UK though, you can’t buy the new paint collection Rhythm of Life, but I wanted to show you some colour inspiration. I’ve decided to paint my home office / studio beige and will be showing you more about that very soon. It’s a big decision, but I think it’s the right one. I have plenty of white walls in the house, so it’ll be quite exciting to see this room change.
“All of us move to our own beat – a rhythm
that influences how we live, the choices
we make, the way we look at the world.”
There are three main categories of the Rhythm of Life collection; City Motions, Silent Serenity and Lush Garden. You can read more about it here. The collection exists of 36 new colours that Jotun has developed in responseto the changing nature of modern international living.
I don’t think I have favourite. A mix of City Motions and Silent Serenity is what I like.
“Shaker-simple stools beside Scandinavian
cabinets. Ornate African handicrafts against
the sun-faded walls of a Muscat home.
A nomadic palette that interweaves cultural
influences and takes its cues from natural light,
open air and soft earth.”
This isn’t the first time Jotun has worked with talented creative studio Kråkvik & D’Orazio. They have been working together for around 10 years. I love the result every time. I’m sure you’ll agree with me that the colours and the styling is perfect.
I have to say the tactile ceramics and the brass looks great here and work well with the name Rhythm of Life. Makes me want to go back to France to a few flea markets. I do miss them. We used to go pretty much every weekend. There were so many treasures!
