Hallway update with a new floor mirror from MADE

11/28/2018

I had a few ideas of what I wanted the hallway to look like and I’ve been looking for a floor mirror for some time. I found this one, Arles, at MADE and fell in love with it. It was everything I had been looking for. I always advice people to wait instead of rushing out to buy something that isn’t quite right. We’ve been waiting for a mirror for a while, but I think it was worth it, don’t you?

Floor mirror

As I like minimal design, this mirror is perfect. It’s a great size, not to mention a bit of a statement. A floor mirror does of course need to be secured to the wall, but it’s very easy. A screw or two and it’s done. Minimal hassle.

In the near future, I would love to paint this wall with chalk paint. I’ll get around to it one day. For now though, I’m very happy with the hallway. I feel like the mirror has opened up the space and I can’t wait to see reflections when the sun is back, but that won’t be for a while though. It’s pretty dark in Scotland in the winter.

Scented candles

I love scented candles and think it’s such a nice cosy welcome to have in the hallway. This candle, Warm Spice, is perfect for just now. There’s a hint of cinnamon and and has a nice welcoming scent. I do love the ceramic vessel too. The collection was created by acclaimed luxury designer Vincent Villeger. The holders are handcrafted in Portugal from glazed ceramic. This candle was inspired by Bauhaus.

Simplicity. The essence of Bauhaus design.

You can see the rest of the Candle collection here. Another favourite of mine it the Modernist. Which one is yours?

Ceramic vases

I’ve had the set of 3 ceramic vases from MADE for a while and adore them. I use them all the time. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve probably noticed them before. As you can expect, they move from room to room and sometimes they even separate. Currently they’re sporting a bit of Autumn inspiration from a walk I went on. That is about to change very soon though. I’m thinking eucalyptus for these 3 at Christmas time. Did you know they’re only £20 for the set. A little Nordic design bargain!
