I can’t wait to visit new ALIUM Gallery in Copenhagen

4/07/2020

I love Copenhagen and although I won’t be able to travel there in May, as planned, I wanted to show you new ALIUM Gallery. Discovering new places is one of my favourite things, so when I saw some photos from this newly created gallery I was more than smitten! I think you will be too!

In Latin, ALIUM means different, or unlike others. I can assure you, that is exactly what this is. Completely unique and unlike anything I’ve seen so far, this gallery is definitely worth a visit when we’ll be allowed to travel again. The gallery showcases a curated collection of rotating artworks and unique objects from a handpicked selection of artists.

ALIUM represents both upcoming and established artists, with a current selection consisting of works from; Anne Nowak, Amanda Betz, Carsten Beck, Annette Hallbäck, Linda Weimann, Noa Noon Gammelgaard, Sofia Tufvasson, Rebecca Hein, Malene Birger. Many more artists are to be announced in the near future.

What’s so great about this space is that there’s a mix of art, design and interiors. The space looks calm and inviting. Everything has been curated to perfection, not one corner has been forgotten about.

“Existing in the space between interior design and art, ALIUM creates a fluid transition and a timeless expression that inspires visitors. Combining its Copenhagen roots and Scandinavian heritage, ALIUM places a great emphasis on uncompromising craftsmanship, focusing on quality materials, shapes and a simple aesthetic.” – ALIUM

Let’s do a virtual visit instead of a proper one for now, but hopefully we can all visit soon in person.

The images, shot at the ALIUM Gallery, have been styled by interior stylist Tine Daring and photographed respectively by Emil Monty Freddie and Sofie Staunsager.

ALIUM Gallery is based in Copenhagen, next to Frederiksberg City hall in a historic building, the gallery showcases a curated collection of rotating artworks and unique objects from a handpicked selection of artists.

Behind ALIUM is Thomas Nissen, an entrepreneur with many years of experience in the interior design and art industry. He saw an opportunity for creating a space that offers a multi-dimensional experience of original artworks, in an inspiring and more approachable way.

I can’t wait to visit and to see how the gallery will change over time. With unique art pieces, I’m sure you’ll always find something new and interesting. To find out more, have a look here.

You might recognise the work of Anette Hallbäck in this post and if you would like to read an interview I did with here a while back, you can read it here.
