This summer H&M Home launches its new collection – ‘For The Love of Craft’. The limited edition homeware from its ‘conscious’ range brings us back to a slower, handcrafted aesthetic. The whole collection is made for creating a slow and soothing atmosphere in the home, and I think you’ll love this collection as much as I do.
As much of our time has been spent indoors over the past year, we’ve learned to recalibrate. To embrace the simple things, to find comfort in the small details. Drawing on this, H&M Home invites you to explore the beauty of a unique collection of artisan made accessories in raw and sustainable materials.
Sustainable fabrics
Some of the more recognisable fabrics such as rattan and linen are joined by the lesser known, including Himalayan nettle and banana fibre yarn. There is a real human connection between these pieces and the people who made them.
“For centuries, artisans all over the world have treasured craftmanship made by hand. Knowledge of weaving, glassblowing, knitting and ceramics travels from generation to generation, reminding us to slow down and value the unique.”
I can’t help but be transported to the Mediterranean, when I look at these look book images. This timeless collection of minimal, Scandinavian style accessories would look totally at home in a Greek island home, white washed walls and tiled floors as the backdrop.
A naturally muted colour palette is brought out in the deep terracotta clays used to make the curved organically shaped vases and bowls. Cushion covers made by skilled weavers and plant dyed means a natural variation in their earthy tones. And I love the rustic acacia wood serving boards that are perfect for a sharing platter with friends in the garden.
I’d style the terracotta bowls in the kitchen to store fruit or maybe bulbs of garlic. The tall vase would look great styled with cuttings from the garden on top of the new TYLKO sideboard in our dining room, too. The rustic linen cushions give instant craft appeal to a neutral coloured sofa or armchair.

Beige aesthetics is something that really appeals to be and I think it has a nice sense of calm to it. If you like beige, I think you’ll love this Swedish apartment.
