Monochrome boys room

12/16/2014

A few days ago I showed you the Before and After of Magnus’s monochrome boys room. It feels lighter and brighter. I’m so glad I painted it mostly white and also that I removed his desk. He’ll get it back when he needs it. He loves his room and has now got lots of space to play. It’ll be great at Christmas time.

I know I keep mentioning how much I crave light and love light spaces, but sometimes I acutally need darkness too. There are street lights outside Magnus’s bedroom, so some evenings I find it hard to get him to go to sleep. I would really like to get him a nice blackout blind. I think it would be easier for him to sleep if his room was in complete darkness. He’s got two large windows like these in his room, so during the day he has a nice and bright room. Except for in the winter of course. By the time he gets back from school it’s almost dark.

I do like the contrast you get with the black blind in this inspiring monochrome boys bedroom.

I’m not sure if I would choose a black or a white blind. What do you think?  x
